Dwipadshirasan Yoga Asana:
Dwipadshirasan
is a seated yoga posture that requires flexibility and balance and is part of the intermediate series of Ashtanga yoga.
The name of this pose is derived from four Sanskrit root words:
dwi, meaning "two"; pada, which means "feet"; sirsa, meaning "head"; and asana, meaning "pose" or "posture".
Dwipadshirasan Yoga Asana Steps:
- Sit with the legs stretched out in front of you.
- Inhale raise the left leg to take it behind the shoulders and head.
- Inhale raise the right leg to take it behind the shoulders and head.
- Cross the ankles behind and bring the arms out to hold in Anjali Mudra.
- Stay for 20 seconds. Release and relax.
